Specialist learner support

Inclusive learner support, managed and evidenced in one place.

ONYSS is the specialist support management platform for apprenticeship training providers, universities and NMH providers. Identify support needs, coordinate the right provision and maintain a clear evidence trail from initial screening and assessment through to delivery, review, reporting and invoicing.

A practical conversation focused on your learners, workflows, funding requirements and existing systems.

The operational challenge

Inclusive support should not depend on disconnected spreadsheets and inboxes

Learner support involves more than booking appointments. Teams need to identify need early, understand how it affects learning, agree reasonable adjustments, allocate appropriately qualified staff, monitor engagement, review progress and evidence what has been delivered. When each part sits in a different system, learners experience delays and providers lose oversight.

ONYSS brings the complete support pathway into one connected workspace. Learners, support workers, advisers, disability teams, apprenticeship teams, managers and finance staff work from the same current record, with access appropriate to their role.

One connected platform

One platform across the support pathway

Each stage of support remains connected, so authorised users can see what has happened, what needs attention and what comes next.

Each learner record keeps funding, allowances and hours used connected to the wider support pathway.

Identify need

Use structured initial screening to identify indicators that a learner may have a learning difficulty, disability, neurodivergent profile or other support need, and where further assessment may be appropriate. Screening supports early identification. It is not a diagnosis and does not by itself determine funding eligibility.

Assess and plan

Record a Learning Needs Assessment where required and translate identified barriers into agreed reasonable adjustments, an Individual Learning Plan, practical goals and clear support arrangements.

Deliver inclusive support

Allocate appropriately qualified support workers, arrange appointments, record Specialist Study Skills or Mentoring sessions, communicate securely and keep attendance, Did Not Attend (DNA) and learner-approval records connected.

Review progress and impact

Monitor engagement, review goals and reasonable adjustments, capture learner feedback and show how support is helping the learner participate, progress and work towards successful completion.

Evidence and report

Maintain retrievable evidence of assessment, planned adjustments, support delivered, reviews, hours and costs. Authorised teams can see what has happened, what needs attention and which records support funding, quality assurance and inspection activity.

Invoice from the delivery record

Connect approved sessions and agreed rates to invoicing and finance workflows, reducing duplication and helping finance teams work from the same source record as delivery teams.

Built for organisations responsible for inclusive learner support

Apprenticeship training providers

Manage the Additional Learning Support pathway without trying to make an apprenticeship MIS perform a specialist support role. From screening and Learning Needs Assessment to ILPs, support delivery, three-monthly reviews and funding evidence, ONYSS helps providers make inclusive support visible and accountable. ONYSS supports the apprenticeship; it does not deliver the apprenticeship itself.

Apprenticeship training providers

Universities and higher education providers

Coordinate university-funded and specialist student support with clear visibility of referrals, allocation, engagement, goals, hours, approvals, progress and cost.

Universities and higher education providers

NMH providers

Run the operational pathway from referral and funding entitlement through allocation, appointments, session records, learner approvals, reporting, invoicing and payroll handoff.

NMH providers

Needs assessment and referral partners

Create a clearer, permission-based handover from identified need and recommendation into provision, reducing duplication and avoidable delays.

Inclusive support with operational control

ONYSS does not replace professional judgement. It gives qualified teams the structure and visibility they need to make informed decisions, respond earlier and demonstrate how support is being delivered. The result is a more consistent learner experience and a more accountable service.
